I have spent over a decade working in the media, for Slovenian national television, private companies, and as a freelancer for UK organisations such as The Guardian and the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, based at the University of Oxford. I have specialised in sports, news, commercial, youth and news programmes. I have been a camera operator, gaffer, sound recordist, director, producer, script writer, reasearcher and journalist.
I have worked with various pieces of professional equipment in a variety of situations – ranging from small waterproof cameras for rafting in caves, to large-scale live broadcast events with studio cameras. I am completely at ease with interviewing, filming and editing video material – I am a perfectionist, and early preparation and attention to detail matter just as much as a good-looking video for my clients.
I speak four languages – my native Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, English, and German. Having this particular set of linguistic skills also informs how I feel as a young European growing up during communism, to living in the EU and eurozone, and moving to France and the UK at a time of Brexit, counter-terrorism measures, global economic security and climate change.
